The SA MET Accreditation Team supports Local Health Networks (LHNs) to ensure their PGY1 and PGY2 training positions are accredited in accordance with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) National Framework for Prevocational (PGY1 and PGY2) Medical Training. This Framework ensures that all training posts meet the required standards for prevocational training, as legislated by the AMC and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
Through the accreditation process, PGY1 and PGY2 prevocational doctors are assured of a high-quality medical education environments that promotes safe, effective, and well-supervised medical training across SA Health. Accreditation provides confidence that education, supervision, wellbeing, and assessment processes meet the National Standards and support the development of competent medical practitioners.
The Accreditation Team work collaboratively with LHNs to ensure compliance with the National Standards and support their accreditation activities through to the Accreditation Committee and the Advisory Council.
